Edmonton 4 at Ft. McMurray 0
A historic night in Fort McMurray as Edmonton starter Rich Walker pitched a perfect game against the Giants. Walker threw 95 pitches and had nine strikeouts in the 4-0 win. The win ended a six-game losing streak for the Prospects.

Chase Partain started for the Giants and lasted 5.2 innings in the loss.

Edmonton scored four runs in the first inning and then let Walker take over the game.
Offensively for Edmonton, Nick Spillman had a hit and a pair of RBI.

Moose Jaw 7 at Regina 6
The Moose Jaw Miller Express jumped out to a 5-1 lead and then held off the Regina Red Sox to take the game 7-6. The Miller Express improved to 12-10 while the Red Sox dropped to 15-7. The loss also ended Regina’s nine game winning streak.

Alex Hendra-Brown led Moose Jaw’s offensive charge with a walk, a double and a home run. He also drove in two runs in the Miller Express victory. Red Sox catcher Colton Onstott reached base four times in defeat. The University of New Mexico sophomore had a walk, hit by pitch, double and a home run.

Gunner Pickett earned the win and Mitchell Robinson picked up his first save of the season. Brian Raymond took the loss for Regina.

Moose Jaw pitchers struck out 12 Red Sox batters
Scott Platt had 3 hits and a run scored

Swift Current 12 at Lethbridge 6
This spirited affair had 19 runs and 33 hits. When the dust cleared, Swift Current defeated the home town Bulls 12-6.

Swift Current got a triple, two home runs and five RBI from Bo McClintock. Not to be outdone, 57s outfielder Myles Miller had six hits, three runs a homer and two RBI. Miller also stole a base   Lachlan Mayo added four hits and two RBI for the Bulls.

Joey Machado started and went five innings for the 57s to get the win.  Bulls starter Bryce Oriold-Fraser gave up six runs and nine hits in the loss.

Medicine Hat 7 at Yorkton 4
The Medicine Hat Mavericks extended their winning streak to nine games with their 7-4 over the Yorkton Cardinals. The win vaulted the Western Division leading Mavericks to a 19-3 record. Yorkton, now 4-17, have lost seven straight ball games.

Mavericks first baseman Sal Rodriguez had a hit, a run and three RBI on the night. Yorkton’s Nolan Rattai had two hits and two walks on the night. 

Starter Conner Green gave up four runs in 3.2 innings before turning things over to the Maverick bullpen. The bullpen was strong the rest of the way as they did not give up a run. Barry Caine got the win and Julien Ly took the save.  Cardinal starter Owen Steele threw six innings in a losing cause.

Griffey Halle kicked in three hits including a triple, 2 runs and 2 RBI
Brian Chen threw two shutout relief innings

Melville 10 at Okotoks 3
The Melville Millionaires banged out 15 hits in their 10-3 victory over Okotoks. The Millionaires are now 8-14 while Okotoks fell to 14-8.

Nik Pagan with four hits and four RBI and Kole Kaler, three hits and three runs scored powered the Millionaire offence. Dawgs corner infielder Nate Dechaine was two for four with a walk.

Case Rolen was the winning pitcher. The Sherman, Texas native pitched five innings with three hits and five walks and two earned runs. Cody Ebert, who went seven innings, was saddled with the Dawgs loss.

Weyburn 2 at Brooks 10
The Brooks Bombers defeated the WMBL’s top team 10-2. Brooks banged out 14 hits while holding the Beaver s to just three.

Riley Macdonald had a career night with a double and three home runs. He also drove in seven runs and scored three times.

The Bombers chased Weyburn starter Landon Mostellar from the game after just three innings. Cam Williams finished the final five innings for the Beavers.

Felix Pena picked up his first win of the season. Cale Thornton added three scoreless innings in relief.

Weyburn is now 19-4 with the loss. Brooks improved to 6-15.
