Here are a few interesting notes from around the WMBL.

 

 

  • The Medicine Mavericks Fan Fest will be held on Tuesday, May 29th from 5 to 7 pm. The second annual Fan Fest is a great opportunity for baseball fans, sponsors and host families to meet the 2018 edition of the Mavericks.

 

 

  • Edmonton Prospects’ 2018 Minor Baseball Day will be held on Sunday June 3rd at Remax Field. First pitch is set for 2:05pm.

 

 

 

  • The Melville Millionaires Field of Dreams Banquet will take place on Saturday, May 26, 2018 The event features former MLB stars Kelly Gruber and Steve Rogers. For tickets call Tammy at 306.720.0789

 

 

  • The Blue Jays Baseball Academy is bringing their Honda Super Camp to Okotoks’ Seaman Stadium on July 19-20. Visit the Dawg’s website at dawgsbaseball.ca.

 

 

  • Todd Stottlemyre, who spent 15 years in the Majors and anchored the Toronto Blue Jays pitching staff that won two World Series Championships, will headline the Regina Red Sox Dinner & Auction on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Turvey Centre.

 

 

  • Swift Current outfielder Blake Adams is hitting .396 with 14 homers for Tarleton State.

 

 

  • Edmonton’s Erik Sabrowski has seven wins in 11 starts including 110 strikeouts for Cloud County Community College.

 

 

  • The Dawgs Kody Funderburk has nine homers and 28 RBI in 124 at bats with Dallas Baptist University Patriots this season.

 

 

  • Congratulations to Dave Pagan (Nipawin, SK) on being inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame. Pagan is just one of only nine Saskatchewan born players to play in the Majors.
