Medicine Hat Mavericks 6 at Edmonton Prospects 4
It was another good crowd at Re/Max Field as 2,440 Prospect fans were on hand to watch this version of the battle of Alberta. The Medicine Hat Mavericks scored six runs on just four hits to jet past the Edmonton Prospects.  The Mavericks now have a 26-21 record while Edmonton, 24-23, has now lost three straight games. 
 
Maverick shortstop Louie Canjura had two hits and two RBI and Colton Wright smacked his sixth home run of the year in the win.
 
Designated hitter Michael Gahan had two hits and two RBI for Edmonton.  
 
Conner Deeds picked up his fourth win in 2.1 innings of work while Erik Sabrowski, the lefty from Cisco Community College, fell to 3-2 with the loss. 
  
 
 
Fort McMurray Giants 5 at Lethbridge Bulls 2
A three run sixth inning was the difference as the Fort McMurray Giants upset the playoff bound Lethbridge Bulls 5-2. Both teams managed nine hits in the game. 
 
Giants starter Tyler Hodder continued to show why he is the ball club’s pitching ace as he earned his sixth win. He threw 7.2 innings allowing just two runs and seven Lethbridge hits. Kyle Gomez, the Burleson, TX reliever picked up his first WMBL save. 
 
Trace Francis took the loss for the Bulls.  
 
Richard Ortiz lead the Giants with three RBI and two hits including his fifth home run  of 2017. Joey Nicastro contributed three hits in Fort McMurray’s 20th victory of the season.
 
Blake MacDonald, Jesse Hilyard and Nolan Handley each had two hits in the Lethbridge’s defeat. 
    
 
 
Melville Millionaires 4 at Yorkton Cardinals 1
Melville first baseman Vinny Martin hit a two-run shot in the first inning to lead the Millionaires past the Yorkton Cardinals 4-1. The dinger was Martin’s fourth of the season. 
 
With the win, Melville has now won three in a row, while Yorkton’s losing streak reached 11. 
 
Millionaire starter Mason Furlong was spectacular on the mound as he pitched 7.2 shutout innings. Furlong gave up just two hits and two walks while fanning seven to collect his fourth win of the season. 
 
Yorkton born Tyson Black, a freshman at Miles Community College, suffered the loss for the Cardinal’s.
 
Bryce Mulcahy had a hit and a run for Yorkton, who only managed three hits in the game. 
 
 
 
Brooks Bombers 0 at Okotoks Dawgs 12
The Okotoks Dawgs blanked the Brooks Bombers 12-0 in front of 4,909 fans at Seaman Stadium. It was a WMBL best 34th win of the year for Okotoks. 
 
CJ Lewington made his eighth start for Okotoks and earned his third win throwing six shutout innings. He allowed three hits and three walks while striking out seven Bomber batters. The Dawgs bullpen did not allow a hit over three innings of relief.  
 
Austin Ell was tagged with the loss after the Dawgs scored seven runs on four hits and two walks in the first two innings of the game. 
 
Efrain Cervantes was the lone bright spot at the plate for Brooks as he collected two of the three Bomber hits on the night. 
 
Matt Lloyd was in playoff form as he contributed three hits including his 16th double.  Brendan Rose also had three hits and three RBI on the night for the Dawgs. 
 
Brooks has now lost 10 straight while the League leading Okotoks Dawgs have won three in a row.
 
 
 
Regina Red Sox  5 at Swift Current 57s  6
The Swift Current 57’s overcame a 3-1 deficit to beat the Regina Red Sox 6-5 and clinch the 2017 Eastern Division Pennant. It was Swift Current’s sixth straight win and third consecutive victory over the Red Sox.  
 
Keil Krumwiede and Blake Adams led the Swift Current charge with home runs. Thomas DeBonville scored three runs in the 57’s victory.
 
For the Red Sox fifth year veteran Jordan Schulz had a single and a double. He also drove in his 43rd run of the season.    
 
Dalton England, the senior from North Dakota State, made his ninth start for Regina. He pitched 6.2 innings in the loss allowing four runs and nine hits. 
 
Reliever Sean Chandler earned his second win in 13 appearances for the 57’s.  In addition to his homer, the versatile Krumwiede also picked up his fifth save of the season. 
 
The Red Sox round out the regular season with a Sunday afternoon matinee against the Melville Millionaires. It is fan appreciate day at Currie Field and the Red Sox will have a big screen scoreboard for extra entertainment. First pitch is set for 2 pm.  
 
 
Weyburn Beavers 7 at Moose Jaw Miller Express 6
The Moose Jaw Miller Express stopped a two-game losing skid as they slid by the second-place Weyburn Beavers 7-6.  Moose Jaw used a seven run seventh inning to send their 403 fans home happy. 
 
Weyburn got home runs from Luis Jimenez and Ulysses Fluellen, who also had three RBI in the loss. 
 
Scott Platt was the offensive star for Moose Jaw providing two hits and a walk in the Miller Express  victory. Ben Dalke and Cole Warken also had a multi-hit game.
 
Cody Pamperin took the loss after allowing two Moose Jaw runs in two-thirds of an inning. Mitchell Price picked up his second win of the 2017 campaign after striking out two while throwing a scoreless seventh inning.
