Edmonton 0 at Ft. McMurray 4 

275 fans turned up at Shell Place to watch the hometown Giants blank the visiting Edmonton Prospects 4-0.

Nik Cardinal was stellar on the hill for the Fort McMurray Giants tonight. The Bonnyville, AB native pitched seven shutout innings before handing the ball to Nate McKenrick who closed out the game with two shutout innings.

Edmonton left 10 runners on base while the Giants stranded four runners. With the win, Fort McMurray improved to 3-1, Edmonton is now 2-2.

Melville 10 at Swift Current 6

Melville defeated Swift Current 10-6 in front of 318 fans at Mitchell Field, Tuesday night.

Zach Diaz, who got the Melville win, pitched in four innings giving up one run while striking out six.  Nick Hooper registered the loss for the 57s.

Ryan Tackett led the Melville offensive charge with three hits and three RBI. Five other Millionaires chipped in with two hits each.   57s centre fielder Anthony Stewart had two of Swift Current’s six runs.

Melville is now 2-1 while the defending champions dropped to 1-4 on the year

Okotoks 1 at Medicine Hat 6
The Medicine Mavericks earned their first win of the season with a 6-1 victory over the Okotoks Dawgs. 780 fans at Athletic Park watched Maverick starter Jaymon Cervantes earned the win. The Minot State product gave up one run on three hits while striking out five.  Carter Robinson took the Dawgs loss.

The Mavericks had eight hits and an error while the Dawgs banged out five hits and committed two errors. Both team left eight runners on base.

The Dawgs are now 2-2 while Medicine Hat sits at 1-2.

Lethbridge 5 at Brooks 6 in 10 innings
The Brooks Bombers scored five runs in the first two innings and took a somewhat comfortable 5-1 lead into the ninth inning. The Lethbridge bats got hot and battled back to scored four runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game and send it to extra innings.

Brooks outfield Damien Rodriguez emptied Elks Stadium when he went yard in the bottom of the 10th inning to claim victory for the Bombers. The walk off dinger was Rodriguez’s second home run of the night.

Bomber starter Collin Thomas pitched eight superb innings allowing just one run on eight hits while striking out five. Keegan Kwong picked up the win pitching 1.1 innings of shutout relief.

Liam Sabiston started for the Bulls and gave way to Kale Penner who pitched three innings in a losing cause.

Damiano Palmegiani, who had a good night hitting, registered a homer, a RBI and scored two runs for Lethbridge.

Collin Thomas pitched 8 innings allowing 1 run on 8 hits and 5 strikeouts


Regina 8 at Moose Jaw 10
The Moose Jaw Miller Express remained perfect with a 10-8 win over Regina. The 335 fans at Ross Wells Park watch the Miller Express win their fifth straight game with a massive seven run seventh inning.

Regina made it close by scoring four runs in the top of the eighth inning but feel just short in their comeback attempt. 

Alex Hendra-Brown had a great night at the plate for Moose Jaw. The senior from Linfield College had three RBIs and three hits including a double and a home run. He also scored two runs.

David Modler and Colton Onstott led the Regina offence with two hits each.

Matt DeNeau hit a double and scored 2 runs

Alex Hendra-Brown cranked out three hits including a homer, 3 RBI and 2 runs scorred.
John Prudhom pitched 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save
