Rain dampened the WMB schedule tonight as only three of the six games we played.
Okotoks 11 at Edmonton 4
The Okotoks Dawgs ruined the party at ReMax Field in Edmonton by scoring eight runs in the fifth inning of their 11-4 victory.
Mason Swegarden pitched six strong innings for the Dawgs allowing just six hits while getting five strikeouts in the win. Okotoks batters also hammered out 15 hits in the game. Daylen Calicdan was a bright spot for Edmonton as he had two hits, a run and a RBI.
Swift Current 1 at Moose Jaw 7
The Moose Jaw Millers exploded for six runs in the third inning on their way to a rain shortened 7-1 win. Miller Express starter Ryder Yakel earned the win in front of 312 fans at Ross Wells Park. Moose Jaw needed four hits and six walks to score their seven runs. Swift Current pitchers did have 10 strikeouts in the game.
This one was called due to weather in the seventh inning. Moose Jaw is now 2-0 while Swift Current falls to 0-2 in 2018.
Lethbridge 10 at Fort McMurray 13
Tonight’s Bulls, Giants game was a battle of the bats. Lethbridge overcame a 9-4 deficit to take a 10-9 lead in the top of the 7th inning. The Giants battled back to tie the game 10-10 in their half of the 7th inning.
Fort McMurray then added three runs in the 8th innings and hung on for a 13-10 win.
