he Okotoks Dawgs (27-11) defeated the Lethbridge Bulls (21-20) for the third straight game. They showed off their high-powered offense to the Bulls, who could be their opponent in the first round of playoffs. The Dawgs, lead by David Head, won by a final of 10-3.
David Head (Northeastern Junior College) got the offense going by drilling a three-run shot in the first inning. Head had a great night, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a double. Every single player in the Dawgs order had at least one hit tonight. Josh Myers (Northern Kentucky University) was the spark plug, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Paul Schaak (Eastern Michigan) had his best start of the summer, taking a no-hitter into the fifth inning. He finished with 6 2/3 innings of two run baseball, allowing only three hits and five strikeouts. Codi Scanlon (Gonzaga), Dominic Porretta (Otterbein) and Ryan Serrato (Georgetown College) threw 2 1/3 innings only giving up one run.
The Dawgs will travel north tomorrow to take on the Edmonton Prospects (6-36) for the final time this season. They will look to move to 10-0 against the Prospects and get one step closer to the playoffs. The Dawgs will be at Seaman Stadium Friday and Saturday at 7:05pm to take on the Moose Jaw Miller Express.
