Okotoks, AB... The Okotoks Dawgs (24-9) took on the Edmonton Prospects (6-32) at Seaman Stadium tonight looking for their ninth win of the season against them. They made all of the Dawgs fans go home happy with a walk off 6-5 win.
Zac Asman (Northern Kentucky University) was the hero tonight coming up in the bottom of the ninth with the score tied at five and the bases loaded with one out. Asman came through with a single and gave them their fifth walk off win of the season. David Hole (Thompson Rivers University) scored the winning run and also blasted a ball over the center field fence for his sixth home run of the season.
Paul Schaak (Eastern Michigan University) got the start and pitched six innings of one run baseball. He only gave up five hits while striking out two. The middle relief was a little rocky, giving up three runs, but then Ryan Serrato (Georgetown College) came in and shut down the Prospects. He pitched 2.2 innings giving up one run on three hits while striking out four. His strong pitching rewarded him with the win.
The Dawgs will be back in action tomorrow against the Swift Current Indians who are currently sitting in first place in the Central Division. It is Elvis Night at the ballpark starting at 7:05pm.
