WMBL Players of the Week – Week 7

Okotoks’ Collin Ridout was selected as the WMBL Player of the Week in Week 7. Edmonton Prospects starting pitcher Rich Walker was named the League’s Pitcher of the Week.
Keaton Greenwell from the Weyburn Beavers and Nate Dechaine from Okotoks earned honourable mentions for Player of the Week.
Weyburn Beaver pitcher Reid Wall and Okotoks Dawgs closer Craig Smith also received honourable mention as Pitchers of the Week
Player of the Week (July 14 - July 20)
Okotoks Dawgs shortstop Colin Ridout earned WMBL Player of the Week by scoring eight runs on 11 hits and four walks. The Tennessee Wesleyan University product also hit two doubles and a home run while driving in five runs. he also stole four bases.
On the season, Ridout is hitting .339 with 24 RBI and 32 runs scored.
On July 15 vs Yorkton, Ridout was three for five with two RBI and two runs scored.
In the Dawgs July 20 game vs Swift Current, Ridout went three for four at the plate with a walk, a double and two RBI.
Nate Dechaine - Okotoks
Pitcher of the Week (July 14 - July 20)
For the second time this season Rich Walker has won WMBL Pitcher of the Week.
Rich Walker, a sophomore from Mesa Community College pitched a two hit complete game shutout. Walker also walked two and struck out six in the Prospects 2-0 win over Brooks.
On the season, Walker is 4-3 with a 2.91 ERA over 48 innings pitched. He also registered 30 strikeouts.
Earlier this season Walker pitched a perfect game, the first in WMBL history, against Fort McMurray.
