Weyburn 10 at Lethbridge 8
The Weyburn Beavers became the first WMBL team to reach 20 wins this season with their 10-8 victory over the Lethbridge Bulls.
Outfielder Corey Wheaton was the Beavers’ offensive catalyst with three hits, a double, a stolen base and four runs scored. Drake Pilat, the junior from the University of Jamestown, chipped in with three hits and two RBI for Weyburn.
Lethbridge third baseman Dylan Borman had a walk, two hits including a home run, three RBI and scored two runs in a losing cause.
Reid Wall picked up the win for Weyburn. He threw 5.1 innings before handing the ball to the bullpen. Eric Evans pitched a scoreless ninth inning to get his fifth save.
The Bulls sent Luc Hebert to the mound for his first start of 2018. The New Brunswick native went 5.2 innings in the loss.

Moose Jaw 5 at Yorkton 8
Riley Jepson added a pair of hits in including a double, a RBI and a run scored for the Cardinals. Scott Platt had three hits, a stolen base and a RBI for Moose Jaw.
Local Yorkton product Tyson Black earned his first win of the season going seven complete. Black struck out three and only gave up two earned runs on four hits and two walks. Ryder Yakel started for Moose Jaw and suffered the loss.

Offensively for Okotoks shortstop Richard Mascarenas had three hits and an RBI in the win. Cole Maclaren, the Dawgs catcher helped the cause by scoring three runs.
Riley MacDonald continued his assault on the WMBL home run record book by bashing his 16th homer of the year. The record is 18 homeruns set by former Lethbridge Bull Jesse Sawyer in 2011.
Mesa Junior College freshman Dustin Schorie pitched two innings in relief to earn the win. He gave up just one hit while striking out two. Brandon Hillier was tagged with seven runs on 10 hits and two walks in the loss.

Melville 3 at Edmonton 21
Edmonton’s Michael Gahan had a massive night at the plate. Gahan had four hits, a walk, a run scored and six RBIs. Percy Liu also had a stellar performance scoring four runs. He contributed three hits, two RBI and a walk.
Nik Pagan was one of the bright spots for the Millionaires with two hits and two RBI.
Prospect starter Conner Burns pitched 7.1 innings for the win. Burns faced 30 hitters, gave up just three runs and struck out seven.
