Lethbridge 0 at Okotoks 4
The Okotoks Dawgs impressed the 2,408 fans at Seaman Stadium with a 4-0 shutout win over the Lethbridge Bulls.

Dawgs starter Carter Robinson allowed just three hits and struck out six in his six innings of work.  The bullpen pitched three perfect innings to seal the Okotoks victory. Jaden Griffin pitched six innings in a losing cause.

Eddie Sanchez had two runs on two hits to lead the Okotoks offensive, which saw each batter reach base at least once.  Hank Forrest was a bright spot for Lethbridge providing the ball club with a single and stolen base.

Regina 7 at Yorkton 4
The Regina Red Sox won their third consecutive game dropping the Yorkton Cardinals 7-4.  Regina improved to 9-6, and Yorkton fell to 4-11.

Reliever Anthony Race, making his 11 appearance, was credited with the win. It was his second win in as many days. Sam Cottingham-Beard picked up his second save of the year. Brian Chen, who came in to take over for Yorkton starter Owen Steele, was tagged with the loss.

Outfielder Jake Wilson was Regina’s offensive star with four hits, a run and a stolen base. Riley Jepson, reached base four times and scored a run for Yorkton. As well, both teams left 10 runs on base.

Weyburn 8 at Swift Current 2
The Weyburn Beavers improved to a league best 14-2 with their 8-2 win in Swift Current. The 57s  are now 8-10 on the season.

Keaton Greenwalt and Drake Pilat each smacked home runs to power the Beavers offence. Overall Weyburn had eight hits while Swift Current managed five. The difference in the game was the four Swift current errors.

Chase Thometz, making his first start for Weyburn got credit for the win. Swift Current’s Zach Bravo was the losing pitcher.

Edmonton 9 at Moose Jaw 2

AJ Nitzschke hammered two home runs and had four RBI to lead the Edmonton Prospects to a 9-2 win over Moose Jaw.  The win upped Edmonton’s record to 8-8 while the Miller Express fell to 9-8. 

Offensively DH Anthony Cucati had two of the Prospects 11 hits. The UBC senior also had a double, a walk and two runs scored. For Moose Jaw, Adam Cook went yard in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run shot.

Brendan Wiun pitched six shutout innings for his second win of 2018. Marion McLean ended up with the save after three innings of relief work. Gunner Pickett, now 1-3 in his four starts, ended up with the loss.

Medicine Hat 8 at Ft. McMurray 7
The Medicine Hat Mavericks jumped out to an early 5-3 lead and hung on to defeat Fort McMurray 8-7. The Mavericks improved to 13-3 and the Giants fell to 5-12.

The 510 fans at Shell Place enjoyed an offensive game that saw the two teams combine for 23 hits. Maverick catcher Colton Wright contributed three hits and was hit by a pitch in the game. Not to be outdone the Giants Drew Dickerson had three hits, a walk and two stolen bases in a losing effort. 

Barry Caine improved to 3-0 on the season with the win. Tyler Shumpert added his third save for the Mavericks. Tyler Hodder took the loss for the Giants.
