Brooks 3 at Okotoks 9

William Hollis reached base four times and scored three runs as the Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Brooks Bombers 9-3. The Dawgs bullpen then shutdown the Bombers offence over the final three innings of the game to secure the win.

Dawgs starter Graham Brunner earned the win in his first WMBL start while Jordan Johnson took the loss for Brooks.

With the win, Okotoks improves to 8-4 while the Bombers dropped to 4-8.

Lethbridge 10 at Edmonton 9
A one hour weather delay did not dampen the action at ReMax Field as the Lethbridge Bulls and the Edmonton Prospects battled into extra innings.

Edmonton used a seven-run seventh inning to overcome a five-run deficit to grab an 8-5 lead. Lethbridge countered with three runs of their own in the top of the eighth to tie the game at 8.

The Bulls Brett Mercier then broke the tie in the top of the 10th when his single scored both Damiano Palmegiani and Grant Schmidt. Edmonton managed to score one run in their half of the inning to make the final score 10-9 for the visiting Bulls.

Yorkton 3 at Weyburn 4
The Weyburn Beavers continued their winning ways with a dramatic ninth inning 4-3 comeback win over Yorkton. The 216 fans at Tom Laing Park went home happy as the Beavers rallied from a 3-2 deficit for the victory.

Cam Williams singled to drive Corey Wheaton to third and bring Gabe Melendez home to tie the game 3-3. With the bases loaded, Corey Harrell completed the comeback when he was hit by a pitch which allowed Corey Wheaton to cross the plate with the winning run.

Beavers closer Eric Evans picked up the win after striking out two of the four batters he faced in the top of the ninth. Austin Skelhorn was tagged with the loss for Yorkton.

Weyburn remains undefeated as they have won their first 11 games of the 2018 season.

Melville 1 at Swift Current 7
The Swift Current 57s scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the Melville Millionaires 7-1 in front of 450 fans at Mitchell Field. The loss extended Melville’s losing streak to seven games. Swift Current, now on a two game winning streak, improved to 5-8.   

Swift Current starter Zach Bravo was solid during his 6.2 innings of work. The Eastern Arizona College product faced 27 batters allowing just one run on three hits and two walks. He also struck out 13 Millionaires.  

Melville’s Case Rolen was roughed up by the Swift Current hitters as he gave up six runs over 3.2 innings.

Ft. McMurray 8 at Moose Jaw 10
With their 10-8 victory over the Fort McMurray Giants, the Miller Express ended a two game losing skid.

The Miller Express were powered by two Ty Roseberry home runs. The sophomore from the University of Nebraska at Kearney also drove in six runs. BJ Minarcin contributed to the Giants offence with two doubles and a home run.

Moose Jaw starter Ryder Yakel earned his second win of the year andJohn Prudhom added his second save of the year. Tyler Hodder was the losing pitcher.
