The WMBL keeps the people of Southern Alberta in their thoughts

06/21/2013 7:27 PM -

On behalf of all the WMBL teams, we offer our thoughts and prayers to the thousands of people across southern Alberta that have been effected by the heavy rains, floods and those forced from thier homes. But it is in true Alberta fashion that people have stepped up to the plate to help friends, neighbours and complete stangers offering assistance in so many ways.

To update the WMBL situation this evening (Friday) the Lethbridge Bulls have cancelled the game this evening against the Medicine Mavericks. At this time all other games are proceeding as scheduled.

Shaw contacted the WMBL office this morning to say that they will not be covering the games in Lethbridge this weekend due to the flood situation in southern Alberta. Ed Robertson, Mobile Producer for Shaw TV, said that Shaw's resources are going to be redirected into Shaw and Global National's coverage of the situation as it develops. To follow the situation as it develops and changes you can watch live on Global Calgary or Global live link by going to http://globalnews.ca/news/657546/city-of-calgary-actives-municipal-emergency-plan.
