Bulls Advance to Finals. Regina Leads 2-1

The Bulls advanced to the 2015 WMBL championship last night in Medicine Hat. With an 8-6 victory over the Mavericks the Bulls advanced to the Championship Series for the first time since 2006. The Bulls have yet to drop a game in the playoffs, sweeping Swift Current and Medicine Hat back to back. The offense for the Bulls has been on fire. Currently the top 3 hitters in the playoffs all hail from the Bulls. Bretton Gouthro is hitting 545 with 6 runs and 7 RBI’s, Dylan Dyson is hitting .500 with 5 runs, 4 2B, 2 HR, and 4 RBI’s, and league MVP Brandon Bufton is hitting .458 with 6 runs scored, 2 HR, and 8 RBI’s.

 

In the other semi final series, Regina holds a 2-1 advantage over Weyburn heading into game 4 tonight. The series has been very close with games the teams trading 1-0 victories the last two nights. Tommy Lay was excellent in game 1 of the series throwing 7.1 innings, giving up 6 hits, 2 ER and striking out 8 Weyburn hitters. Skyler Shaw-Fuss pitched a complete game shutout in game 2. Skyler surrendered only 3 hits and struck out 4. Weyburn kept their hopes alive with a  1-0 win of their own last night. Chris Erker got the win for the Beavers. Erker went 6.1 innings giving up 5 hits, and striking out 8 Red Sox Batters. The two Saskatchewan division rivals will battle it out in game 4 tonight in Regina. Good luck to both teams!
