The Swift Current Indians make the most of 7 hits over the Regina Red Sox

The Regina Red Sox have dug themselves in a hole after dropping Game #2 of the East Division Final 7-5 and now find themselves down two games to zero in the series. Around 600 people enjoyed a well played ball game friday night. The game was played under good conditions and just finished before mother nature unleashed its furry again.

Sean Callegari was the winning piticher for SC and Justin Blue took the loss for Regina. SC scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning aided by a 3 run home run by  Hunter Owen. Regina fought back with 2 runs of their own in the 3rd and 3 runs in the 5th inning but were not able put up any runs after the 5th inning.

Game 3 is scheduled for tonight in Swift CurrentThe Swift Current Indians (5-1) and the Regina Red Sox (3-2) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Swift Current Indians that eventually took advantage of them in a 7-5 win at Currie Field.

Hunter Owen racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Swift Current Indians. He homered in the third inning.

Chad Kim had an impressive outing against the Regina Red Sox's lineup. Kim held the Regina Red Sox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

The Regina Red Sox were led by Hans Ask's hitting. Ask went 2-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the fifth inning.

Even though Sean Callegari allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. Callegari struck out five, walked four and gave up seven hits.

Justin Blue was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked four and struck out two.
