With the results Monday in the WMBL the playoff picture has become a lot clearer. In fact, all four first round series opponents have been determined.

The Weyburn Beavers victory over Regina clinched a playoff spot for the Beavers. The win also gave the Lethbridge Bulls the WMBL regular-season pennant and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs as Regina can no longer pass Lethbridge for that title.

The Moose Jaw Millar Express victory over Melville eliminated the defending champion Millionaires from the playoff picture. Swift Current officially clinched the Central Division tonight with their victory over the Yorkton Cardinals although with the Millar Express win, Yorkton was able to also secure their birth to the postseason for the first time in five years.

So the top seed in the playoffs, the Lethbridge Bulls will host the Okotoks Dawgs on Friday at Spitz Stadium
for Game 1.  Game 2 will go the next night also in Lethbridge with games 3 & 4 (if nec) at Seaman Stadium on Sunday and Monday.  Game 5 (if nec) would revert back to Lethbridge on Tuesday. All games in the series will be at 7:05 PM.

The other western conference series will feature the Medicine Hat Mavericks against the Moose Jaw Miller Express. Although we know the two teams will be facing each other, home-field advantage has yet to be determined and will be decided over the next couple of nights.

The Eastern division champion Regina Red Sox have secured home-field advantage throughout the Eastern conference playoffs. They will be hosting the Yorkton Cardinals starting Friday night in Regina.  The league has confirmed games 1 & 2, in Regina, will be at 7:05 PM with start times for games 3 and 4 in Yorkton on Sunday and Monday will be announced Tuesday.  Game five would be back in Regina at 7:05 PM on Tuesday, August 5.

The other Eastern conference series will feature the Central division champion Swift Current Indians and the Weyburn Beavers. Similar to the other series, Swift Current will host games 1 & 2 on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 PM at Mitchell field with the Beavers hosting games 3 and 4 on Sunday and Monday at 7:05 PM at Tom Laing Park in Weyburn.  Game 5 would revert back to Swift Current on Tuesday at 7:05 PM.
