Okotoks, AB...In a pitching duel at Seaman Stadium, the Okotoks Dawgs (23-21) prevailed over the visiting Edmonton Prospects (16-28) by a final score of 2-1

The Dawgs' starter Chris Sievers (Northeastern Junior College) had the Prospects' batters solved as he allowed no runs and just four hits through six innings while recording five strikeouts. Shaun Meyer (Georgetown College) allowed one run over 1.1 innings while striking out two, while Travis McDonald (University of Arkansas - Little Rock) picked up the save by recording the final five Prospects outs in just 15 pitches

Jerod Bartnik (University of British Columbia) was the only Dawg to have a multi-hit game as he went 2-3 with a double, run scored, a steal, and drove in the Dawgs only RBI. Zach Johnson (Porterville College) went 1-3 with a run scored.

Noah Gapp of Edmonton pitched all eight innings in the loss while striking out five Dawgs.

Tomorrow, the Dawgs travel to Medicine Hat for a pivotal game. With a win, the Dawgs would tie the Mavericks in the standings for second in the west, potentially securing home-field advantage in the first round of playoffs. The Dawgs' final home game of the year is on Wednesday at 7:05 PM vs the Lethbridge Bulls.
