Lethbridge, Alberta... A huge four-run rally in the bottom of the fourth was enough to drive the Lethbridge Bulls (25-13) to a 7-6 victory over the Okotoks Dawgs (18-19).
The Dawgs, who have lost three in a row, started out the ball game well, as the lead 3-0 early, but Lethbridge wouldn't go away and scored four in the fourth to force out Dawgs starter Anthony Willeford (MacMurray College). Willeford lasted four innings, allowing five runs. Travis McDonald (University of Arkansas - Little Rock) allowed two runs through four innings of relief.
Ellis Kelly (Lamar CC) concluded the five game road trip with a 3-5 game while scoring three runs. He raised his batting average almost 50 points over the long trip and is now hitting .298 on the year. Scott Hoyt (Colorado State - Pueblo) was 2-4 with one RBI and Zachiary Johnson (Porterville College) had two RBIs on one double. The Dawgs were outhit 10-9.
Tomorrow, the Dawgs host the Edmonton Prospects in the annual Canadian Breast Cancer Pink Day, where the players' pink jerseys are auctioned off for breast cancer during the game. The game is at 2:05 and is already sold out - just berm seating remains.
