Regina, SK...The Okotoks Dawgs (18-16) flexed their muscles for a huge 12-1 victory over the Regina Red Sox (21-13) tonight at Currie Field.
The Red Sox struck first tonight, but that would be the only run they would get as Tyrell King (Paradise Valley CC) was sensational. The six foot five left-hander went eight innings allowing only three hits while fanning 7 Red Sox hitters.
The Dawgs offence exploded for 17 hits, while having eight of the nine hitters in the lineup earn at least one base hit. The charge was lead by Mario Sanchez (Colorado State University-Pueblo) who had four hits while driving in four runs. Taylor Fish (University of Nebraska) had himself a great day at the plate which included three hits and one run batted in. The Dawgs had three other players with a multi-hit night.
The team is back in action tomorrow night at 7:05 against the same Regina Red Sox. Okotoks sits just one game back of the second-place Medicine Hat Mavericks in the West Division.
