SUNDAY, JULY 20TH IS BREAST CANCER DAY AT SEAMAN STADIUM
Okotoks, AB…Following the conclusion of a highly successful 10-game home stand with several sellouts and another record-breaking Canada Day crowd, over which the Okotoks Dawgs posted a 7-3 moving into 2nd place in the highly contested Western Division of the WMBL, the Dawgs return to the friendly confines of beautiful Seaman Stadium for one of the biggest games of the year, Canadian Breast Cancer Pink Day!
On Sunday, July 20th, at 2:05 P.M. the Dawgs host the Edmonton Prospects in a game with playoff implications but more importantly, for a very worthy cause as the Dawgs once again partner with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to raise awareness and funds. To date, the Dawgs have helped raise over $150,000 in support of Breast Cancer, and last year alone the organization raised $35,000. As in past seasons, Dawgs players will be dressed in pink jersey tops with the jerseys being auctioned off throughout the game. In 2013, a team record of over $5000 was paid for the jersey of former Dawgs standout and recent draft pick of the Boston Red Sox, Jordan Procyshen.
The next home games for the Dawgs following the Breast Cancer game are the following weekend as Seaman Stadium plays host to the Yorkton Cardinals for two games and Edmonton for one from Friday, July 25th to Sunday, July 27th. The Dawgs’ regular season winds down on July 30th before the playoffs start.
Currently, the Dawgs are third place in the Western Division. Playoff ticket packages can be bought commencing on July 21st , while individual playoff game tickets can be purchased starting July 28th.
