Edmonton 6 Okotoks 4
July 11, 2014
Okotoks, AB… The Edmonton Prospects (13-19) ended their seven-game losing streak with a 6-4 win over the host Okotoks Dawgs (15-15).
CJ Lewington (Southeastern Illinois College) made his first start for the Dawgs and lasted five innings, giving up just one run. A rough four-run inning in the top of the seventh was the Dawgs’ demise. Jake Shaw (Northern Kentucky University) was great in the last two innings, striking out five while allowing just two hits.
Mark Riendeau (Louisiana College) lead the offense, going 3-5 with two RBIs and a steal. Connor Crane (Lamar CC) was 2-4 with two runs scored and two steals to move him into second in the league.
The Dawgs also had six steals in the game.
Tomorrow, the Dawgs look to play spoilers as they host the Lethbridge Bulls, who are 9-1 in their last 10 and lead the WMBL standings.
