The sun was out in Edmonton for Dawgs as they trump Prospects tonight

Dawgs (4-9) trump Prospects (8-7) by a score of 10-7 tonight at Telus Field.

Conor Lillis-White (UBC) pitched a strong 5 innings scattering six hits and three runs on route to the victory over Edmonton.

Offense was the story of the day with Mario Sanchez (Colorado State - Pueblo) going 3 for 6 with two RBIs. Jake Simmerman went 1 for 2 with 4 walks and his league leading 20th RBI. Early on, Ellis Kelly ( Lamar Community College) hit a game tying 2 RBI triple, followed by a go ahead RBI single by Mario Sanhez, and the Dawgs never looked back. 

The Dawgs outfield continued to be strong with great throws from Jordan Peterson (Chandler Gilbert Community College) and Jerod Bartnik (UBC), both of which ended early inning threats by the Prospects.


The next game for the Dawgs, Friday, June 20th, and Wednesday, June 25th. Shaw Communications will be broadcasting live in Okotoks. First up, the Dawgs and Medicine Hat Mavericks (8-4) will battle in a rematch from the Western Conference Finals on the 20th at 7:05 P.M. On Wednesday the 25th, the Lethbridge Bulls (8-5) make their second trip of the year to Okotoks, also a 7:05 P.M. start.
