WMBL Game Highlights July 10

Okotoks 6 at Brooks 4

Okotoks used a five run third inning to defeat Brooks 6-4. The win extended the Dawgs winning streak to six games. 

Abdiel Alicea led the Okotoks offensive with a double and home run. Alicea also had two RBI and two runs scored.

Offensively Brooks got homeruns from Conner Morro and Zach Lehman.

Cody Ebert had a fantastic night on the mound throwing eight innings of four hit ball. He also had seven strikes while getting his fifth win of the season. Craig Smith continues to be the top closer in the WMBL as he earned his ninth save.

Brooks starter Felix Pena lasted three innings and was the losing pitcher.

Lethbridge 8 at Melville 2 (5 innings)    
The Lethbridge Bulls stormed past Melville 8-2 in a rain shorted five inning game. With the win the Bulls are now 13-19 while Melville fell to 9-22.

Ben Erwin, the Niagara University freshman picked up the win pitching all five innings. Erwin allowed two runs on four hits and a walk. He also struck out four.  Lyle Hibbits took the loss for Melville. 

Lethbridge used the long ball to jump out to an insurmountable 8-0 lead on home runs from Hank Forrest, Kaleb Warden and Blake MacDonald.

Shortstop Edarian Williams also went yard for Melville.

Yorkton 0 at Edmonton 8
Conner Burns pitched five shutout innings in Edmonton’s 8-0 victory over the visiting Yorkton Cardinals. The game was halted after five innings due to weather. Harrison Grow was tagged with the Yorkton loss.

Edmonton’s Nick Spillman reached base three times with a double and two walks. He also scored two runs, a stolen base and a RBI.

1,373 fans were in attendance to watch Edmonton win their 14th game of the year.

Yorkton is now 8-21
